Description
Macomb county's oldest and bicentennial family farm orchard, located in the rolling hills of historic Romeo. The sixth generation women, Abby and Katrina, use the latest science to grow fruits, vegetables and flowers on their 200-acres. They've been recognized for their commitment to grow sustainably on their 200-acres. They are the location for the MSU Enviroweather Station for Macomb County; it provides data in real time about disease threats to crops. It's part of their Integrated Pest Management practices which started in 1980! They were the second farm in Macomb County to be verified MAEAP by MDA-RD almost 15 years ago. This reflects their commitment as environmental stewards of the farm founded by their ancestor in 1813. Today the farm offers guests a Farm Market, Bakery, Cider Mill with modern press, Winery in loft of 1850 barn, Farm Fun for families with petting farm, corn maze, wagon rides and more. Schools bring students as well as other Tour Groups and Corporate Events are hosted at the farm throughout the year. U-Pick draws families for strawberries, cherries, raspberries, saskatoons, apples, pumpkins, sunflowers and summer veggies.
